Yin Liu
Postdoctoral fellow

PhD, University of California, Berkeley (2019)

Research Interests

Yin is a postdoctoral researcher working with Professor Dionne in the department of the Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. His Ph.D. study was focused on the synthesis of helically twisted van der Waals crystals and their chiral-optical and thermal properties. He also studied hyperbolic phonon polaritons in two-dimensional materials. In Professor Dionne’s group, Yin is attempting to use TEM based cathodoluminescence and EELS spectroscopy to explore exotic optical properties of 2D materials such as h-BN, which are attractive for applications in quantum photonic sensing and communications.
